I’ve finally finished it! The Rijksmuseum is one of the reasons why I was happy to move here from Scotland, and last winter – with no ice, no snow, no frozen canals – we visited the ice rink in front of the museum for a bit of Dutch winter magic. I knew immediately that I was looking at my next winter print.
This one has been a real learning experience for me, finding out how to eliminate rogue smudges of ink from the sky and ice (by masking the area with paper), and spending several days just painting clouds until I finally achieved what I wanted. The print is for sale in my Etsy shop.
